When planning the extension to the main branch of Volksbank Rhede eG, the importance of soundproof doors in the interior was recognized early on. Effective sound insulation not only guarantees employees the peace and quiet they need to make customer-oriented decisions, but also ensures maximum discretion for customers when dealing with sensitive personal and financial information.
mann Objecta took on the task of fitting the extension building with appropriate door solutions in 2018. After clarifying the on-site dimensions and conditions, 20 door elements were manufactured, delivered and installed on site.
Two technical factors in particular are decisive for the design of soundproof doors: the mass and flexibility of the materials. The higher these properties, the better the sound insulation. The doors are therefore manufactured in a multi-layer sandwich construction, in which the individual layers are only connected at certain points in order to maintain flexibility. Between the solid outer shells there is a filling, for example made of dimensionally stable mineral wool, which strongly absorbs sound waves. This achieves sound insulation values of between 35 and 45 decibels.
An effective overall concept also requires correct door rebate sealing with elastic acoustic seals that have a high resilience. The properties of walls, ceilings and windows are also included in the sound insulation measures.
Block frames with partially frosted glass elements on the sides and attached fanlights were used for Volksbank Rhede eG. The block frame enables a flush transition between the door leaves and the wall cladding and consists of a solid frame profile. The surfaces of the doors and frames are finished with laminate in the „Cherry Verona“ decor from the manufacturer Egger. The horizontal course of the veneer harmonizes with the three transverse strips on the door fronts, which have an elegant metal look.
